I have covered a lot of Wi-Fi 6 routers and mesh systems, while they have all be fantastic, they have also all been very expensive.
Back in February, Huawei announced the Huawei WiFi AX3 which claimed better than Wi-Fi 6 performance thanks to their proprietary Wi-Fi 6+ technology. This was then followed up by the Honor Router 3, which is the same hardware but rebranded to Honor.
I recently imported and reviewed the Pro model of the Huawei WiFi AX3, while I didn’t see much benefit to the Wi-Fi 6+ technology, it offered the same level of performance as routers more than double its price.
Sadly the Huawei WiFi AX3 only comes with Chinese firmware, but the Honor Router 3 has global languages, and it has now been launched in the UK for just £79.99. That’s around £60 cheaper than a similar specced Netgear.
