Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G vs Realme X50 Pro 5G compared – Two affordable flagships launching within days of each other

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G officially launched on the 13th of February and will be followed by the Realme X50 Pro 5G on the 24th of February and with the cancellation of MWC, Realme will stream the event from the launch location in Madrid, Spain.

While we can’t 100% confirm the specs, many of the specs have already been revealed, We know most things about the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G, but less about the Realme. However, the Realme should share many of the specs from the current X50 with the Snapdragon 765 chipset.

Price

Both phones will be cheaper than the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S20 series.

The Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro went on sale in China at 10am on 14 February, with prices starting at 3,999 yuan (£442/US$573) and 4,999 yuan (£552/$716) respectively. There is currently no word on UK/EU pricing or availability but it will be higher than the Chinese prices.

The Mi 9 launched at £499 for 8GB/128GB and this is likely to increase for the Mi 10.

Realme X2 Pro is currently available for 439 Euros/£370. So it is like that Realme will undercut Xiaomi.

Chipset

Both phones will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 with 5G. The Realme is confirmed to have one model variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G has models from 8GB/128GB through to 12GB/256GB.

Display

The Xiaomi comes with a 6.67 inch AMOLED display running at 1080 x 2340 pixels with 120 Hz refresh rate. It will have a small punch hole to the upper left of the display.

The Realme X50 Pro 5G display has been confirmed as having a 90Hz Super AMOLED screen upgrading the phone from IPS on the cheaper X50.

The existing X50 is a 6.57 inch IPS display running at 1080 x 2400 pixels with a 120Hz. The X2 had an AMOLED display as did the X2 Pro, so it will be interesting to see if the X50 Pro 5G has the same IPS display as the X50 or upgrades to AMOLED.

Camera

The current leaks indicate the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G will
feature an impressive arrangement of:

  • 108 MP, f/1.8, (wide), PDAF, Laser AF, OIS
  • 12 MP, f/2.2, 54mm (telephoto), 1/3.6″,
1.0µm, PDAF, Laser AF, 2x optical zoom
  • 16 MP, f/2.2, 13mm (ultrawide), 1/3.0″,
    1.0µm, PDAF, Laser AF
  • 5 MP, depth sensor

On the front, there is a single 20MP lens with a f/2.0 aperture.

Currently, there have been no confirmed details about the Realme
X50 Pro 5G. The existing X50 has:

  • 64 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/1.7″, 0.8µm,
    PDAF
  • 12 MP, f/3.0, 54mm (telephoto), 2x optical zoom,
    PDAF
  • 8 MP, f/2.3, 13mm (ultrawide), 1/4.0″,
    1.12µm
  • 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro), 1/5.0″, 1.75µm

It is likely this will remain similar, but the X2 to X2 Pro
added a telephoto lens, so it is possible at least one of the lenses may be
upgraded.

On the front, things will likely stay the same with:

  • 16 MP, f/2.0, 26mm (wide), 1/3″, 1.0µm
  • 8 MP, f/2.2, 17mm (ultrawide), 1/4.0″, 1.12µm

Battery

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G launched with a smaller battery than expected with 4500 mAh, though this is still much larger than last year. The phone has a 50W charger but it is compatible with 65W charging and wireless charging of 30W.

The battery has not been announced for the X50 Pro but it has been confirmed that it will have 65W SuperDart charging making it one of the fastest charging phones on the market. The current X50 has 4200 mAh battery with 30W fast charge.
