Today Realme announced their most affordable phone for 2020, the Realme C11. The phone launched in Malaysia, and there is no word on UK or EU availability yet. However, they have been launching most of their devices here, so I would expect it to land sooner or later.
MediaTek Helio G35 Chipset
The Realme C11 will feature a new budget orientated MediaTek Helio G35 chipset which manufactured on the 12nm fabrication process and has eight Arm Cortex A53 CPUs running at 2.3 GHz; this is the same CPU specification as the MediaTek Helio P35.
What we are waiting for confirmation of is the GPU, this will likely change from the IMG PowerVR GE8320 on the Helio P35 to an Arm Mali design.
Ram and Storage
There are two options one with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage and another more affordable choice with 2GB of RAM and 32GB storage, you can then upgrade the storage via microSD.
Display
The display is large 6.5-inch IPS display running at 1560 x 720 and features a notch containing a 5MP selfie camera. The screen has a 88.7% Screen-to-body Ratio.
Camera
On the rear, you have a 13 MP wide primary lens with f/2.2 aperture combined with a 2 MP depth sensor, then the 5MP selfie. The camera features the usual options such as a bokeh effect, portrait mode, and a super night mode.
Battery
Similar to other affordable phones such as the Realme 6i, you get a huge 5000mAh battery, when you combine this with the 720p screen and Helio G35, it should have incredible battery life. Realme claim this will give 12.1 hours of gaming and 21.6 hours of media play.
Gaming Ability & Antutu Benchmark
The Realme marketing material is pushing this as an affordable gaming phone, and the Helio G naming convention of the chipset also gives that impression. Early benchmarks showed it to perform significantly behind the (more expensive) Realme C3.
It is unlikely to offer the best gaming experience, but it is quite possible that it can play most games without too many issues, the 720P display will help.
Realme claim an Antutu benchmark of 109,054 vs 91,300 of a unnamed competing chipset.
Price & Availablity
In Malaysia, the phone will be made available on Shoppe on the 7th of July at 12 am for RM499 for the 4GB/32GB model, which works out as £95. Then the 2GB/32GB is RM429 (£82)
If and when this launches in the UK, the price will be higher, I would expect to pay at least £120 for the 4GB option and maybe £100 for the 2GB
