Serial leaker TUP APISAK has shown off some AoTS benchmarks of the up and coming AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with the results compared against an equivalently specced Intel Core i9-10900K.

While the benchmarks appear to be genuine, one benchmark of a new CPU doesn’t necessarily give us an accurate picture of the overall performance. However, it is very promising and certainly enough to whet our appetite.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X vs  Ryzen 7 3800X

When comparing the new Ryzen 7 5800X against the same chip from the previous generation, we see some very impressive results with a 26.7% uplift in performance on average.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X vs  Intel Core i9-10900K

The performance advantage drops a bit when we compare it against the Intel Core i9 10900K. However, the Intel is a flagship CPU with 10-cores 20-threads and an RRP of £549.99. The AMD is 8-cores 16-threads, and the RRP will likely be under £400 assuming it launches at a similar price to the previous generation.  

In this comparison, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X is out ahead by 15.7% on average over the Intel.

Launch and Availability

AMD will announce the new CPUs next Thursday on the 8^th of October. Availability will be shortly after that, but I would expect stock will quickly sell out, if the RTX 3080 launch is anything to go by.
