I previously reviewed the Ezviz LC1 in 2019, at the time it was one of the only floodlight cameras on the market, and I found it to be a superb camera as long as you are willing to commit to the Ezviz system.
Hikvision have been trickling down their advanced object detection and low light technologies to their consumer-orientated products recently. The Ezviz C3X is one of the most advanced home security cameras I have used recently.
The Ezviz LC1 has now received a refresh implementing some of these advanced technologies.
Interestingly, this is not branded with DarkFigher like you see on other Hikvision owned products, but instead, they state Starlight Night Vision which has been typically associated with Sony Starvis sensors. However, I think many brands have adopted this term for any colour night sensor.
Anyway, it looks like the old LC1 is getting discontinued, you can currently buy it for just £129.99. The EZVIZ LC1C has then been launched at the same £179.99 RRP which is £20 lower than the original launch price of the LC1.
You can buy this now from Argos or Amazon.

Full press release:
EZVIZ introduces its Full HD Wi-Fi LC1C Floodlight camera with PIR and built-in siren
With a powerful 2000LM floodlight and 270° sensor, intruders can be seen from all angles
LONDON, FEBRUARY 8 2021: EZVIZ, a global-leading smart home security brand, today announces a new smart home security device to help families and business owners sleep soundly in the knowledge their outside spaces are being monitored. The EZVIZ LC1C CCTV camera’s motion-sensitive floodlight can be set-up to illuminate overnight intruders as well as acting as a deterrent. The EZVIZ LC1C floodlight camera is available now from Argos in Black and White for £179.99.
The EZVIZ LC1C Floodlight includes a PIR human detection system, intelligently recognising people who may be trespassing and revealing them with the powerful 2000LM floodlight. The 270° sensor also ensures intruders from all angles cannot avoid detection; even if attempting to do so through sneaking alongside a wall or below the floodlight itself. Thanks to a starlight standard sensor night time images are clear and bright despite the environmental darkness, allowing users to see everything up to 25 meters (82 ft.) away clearly with the camera’s advanced night vision.
The LC1C can be rotated to face any direction required and has been innovatively designed to connect to an existing outdoor light or be installed as a completely new unit; in both instances professional installation is recommended. The lights will activate upon motion detection and you can adjust the areas it covers via the EZVIZ app. The LC1C also has a built in 100DB alarm which will be activated if there is any unexpected movement to notify the home owner.
Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant as well as IFTTT, the EZVIZ LC1C floodlight is designed to link with the home’s existing smart home devices; including EZVIZ smart alarms. The onboard Wi-Fi module of the LC1C leverages a PA (Power Amplifier) to greatly improve its signal strength and anti-interference capability. In addition, two powerful built-in antennas make sure the LC1C stays online better than ever.
Users can also monitor their home whenever and wherever using the accompanying app that lets them view, listen and speak to visitors or pets from a smartphone, PC or MAC thanks to its two-way talk function. Integrated with infrared technology, the device also filters out background noise for enhanced voice quality. Users can also manually turn the lights on and off, as well as change the brightness of the lights via the app.
The internal waterproof MIC supports audio pickup within five meters and video recording with sound via the app. In addition, the push notification option alerts home owners to any disturbances or suspicious behaviour so they’re fully informed at all times.
Additionally, users can also set schedules, create detection areas as well as review and share live footage or playback previous filming. The floodlight holds a MicroSD card of up to 256GB for local storage of footage or users can sign up to the EZVIZ Cloud Storage system (subject to subscription costs). Thanks to the efficient H.265 video compression technology, the LC1C saves more videos than traditional cameras using the H.264 codec.
The outdoor camera has a two year warranty and an IP65 enclosure rating, meaning that it’s resistant to rain, snow and other harsh weather conditions.
