As usual Samsung are at the forefront of introducing the latest Wi-Fi to their consumer devices. They were one of the only companies to offer WiFi 6 back in 2019 when the Samsung Galaxy S10 launched.
This trend has continued, this year the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra features WiFi 6E while other phones such as the OnePlus 9 Pro do not.
This now also applies to their TVs with them introducing Wi-Fi 6E on their flagship 8K QLED Y21 TV with the help of Mediatek and their MT7921AU chipset.
Samsung’s flagship 8K QLED Y21 TV powered by MediaTek’s MT7921AU supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, and due to its 1.2 Gbps speeds, consumers can enjoy smoother streaming and gaming for uninterrupted entertainment. Further, it’s Wi-Fi 6E capabilities offer numerous advantages over previous Wi-Fi generations, such as significantly faster multi-gigabit data throughput, lower latencies and the latest security and connection reliability features.
Of course, you would need a WiFi 6E router to make the most of this. The ASUS ROG Rapture WiFi 6E GT-AXE11000 was the only option on the market and it looks like this has been out of stock since early March. Netgear now appears to be selling the Nighthawk AXE11000 but sadly this is in the US only at the moment.
