Pinterest is adding a new set of businesses to its Pinterest Shop showcase, in order to help provide promotion for those impacted by COVID-19, while also aligning with rising trends on the platform.
As per Pinterest:
“In honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we’re launching a brand new collection of products from sustainable brands on the Pinterest Shop. The latest curated collection features hundreds of shoppable products (click Pin to go straight to checkout on the retailer’s site) from 21 small and medium-sized businesses.”
Originally launched last November, Pinterest’s shop features a collection of trending, shoppable products, hand-picked by Pinterest’s team. The latest additions include a range of eco-friendly, sustainable products from a range of partner businesses.
Pinterest says that searches for “support small business” have increased 351% over the last month as Pinners look for ways to support those impacted by COVID-19, while searches for “eco-friendly living” (+93%), “zero waste products” (+108%), and “sustainable gifts” (+73%) are also seeing significant increases.
In addition to this (and as you can see above), Pinterest has also partnered with celebrity Lauren Conrad to get her insights into the latest trends, via her own, curated board of her favorite products from her brand ‘The Little Market’.
Pinterest’s shop will provide a bigger platform for these businesses to gain more exposure, boosting their potential to reach the platform’s active audience – and with the number of Pinners engaging with shopping on Pinterest increasing some 44% year over year, that could clearly provide significant benefit for those in the showcase.
If you’d like to see your brand featured in Pinterest’s shop, Pinterest invites SMBs to share their small business story here. Pinterest will update the shop periodically, as it discovers more businesses that align with key trends.
