Today both Realme and Xiaomi released new affordable phones based on the new Mediatek Helio G35 chipset.
The two brands seem to be working in unison with their release cycles and partnership with Mediatek this past year.
Both phones launched at the same price in the same country, with similar specs all around. Even the design looks similar. The naming convention isn’t that far apart either, the Realme C11 and Redmi 9C
But there are a few minor differences
Mediatek Helio G35 Chipset, Ram and Storage
As stated, they both use the brand new Mediatek Helio G35 chipset. It is a low-end option with eight Arm Coretex A53 CPU cores combined with Mali-G31 GPU with no other specifics mentioned about it.
The Helio G range is gaming orientated, and Relame has been advertising it as this in their marketing materials. They claim it scores 109,054 in Antutu.
Both phones launch with a base spec of 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, but Realme will have a 4GB/32GB option too.
Display and Design
The Realme official has a 6.5 inch IPS display running at 1560×720 while the Xiaomi is supposed to be 6.53inches running at 1600×720. I am not entirely sure if there will be any different.
The design of the phones looks eerily similar too, both have a notch, and both use a square-shaped camera on the rear. From what I can tell, the Xiaomi has its 3.5mm headphone jack on the top, while Realme has theirs on the bottom.
You will be glad to know they at least use different colours. The Redmi has at least a bright orange option, while Realme are sticking with grey and that matcha green they have been using a lot recently.
Camera
The Xiaomi is a little better with a 13MP triple camera, they have not revealed details about the secondary lenses, but we can assume one will be a 2MP depth sensory like the Realme with it being highly likely that the 5MP lens will be macro.
The Realme has just two lenses with a 13MP primary lens and 2MP depth sensor.
They then both have an identical 5MP front facing camera.
Battery
As for the battery, you guessed it, identical. They are both massive at 5000 mAh
Price and Availability
And then for price, they have done it again. Same launch price, same date, but different launch website.
The Redmi 9C is RM429 for 2GB/32GB and will be available in Malaysia on the 7th of July at Lazada
The Realme C11 is RM429 for 2GB/32GB and will be available in Malaysia on the 7th of July at Shoppe
