Realme X3, X3 Super Zoom & Realme TV set to launch on 25th of May in China – UK & EU launch unknown so far

The Realme 6 Pro and Realme X50 Pro have only just launched in the UK, with he 6 and 6i just before that. It now looks like Realme are ready to launch their latest range of affordable smartphones.

The latest launch will be on the 25th of May in China, and it is unknown when these may be launched globally.

Realme will be announcing 8 products in total at 2pm Chinese time, they have not confirmed officially what is being launched but it is expected to be  the Realme X3 series including the X3 SuperZoom.

It is also expected that they will launch a Realme TV, TWS earphones and a powerbank.

The UK and EU are unlikely to see all that tech, but Realme launched the X2 series here last year so I would expect to see the follow up launched sometime in the near future.

Realme X3

There are no official specs of the phones it is currently expected that the Realme X3 will be powered by a Snapdragon 765G 5G capable chipset. It is may then come with a 6.57-inch display with 120 Hz refresh rate and corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. On the memory front, the device is expected to come with up to 12GB RAM.

The Realme X3 is said to feature a 4,100mAh battery with 30W fast charge. Over to the camera department, the Realme X3 is tipped to come with a quad-camera array with a primary 48MP f/1.8 camera, an 8MP Ultra-wide lens followed by a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, it will feature a dual punch-hole camera.

Realme X3 SuperZoom

The Realme X3 SuperZoom was spotted on Geekbench and this indicated that it features last years Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset, which will be the only phone launched so far this year to use that chipset.

While that may not sound good with all the Snapdragon 865 phones launching it should allow Realme to offer exceptional performance but at a much lower price point that the SD865 based phones. I don’t know why more companies are not adopting this idea as I think it is perfect for anyone not interested in 5G (or unable to get it).

As the name suggests this will offer a high zoom level which has been Realme’s Madhav Sheth on Twitter recently. The phone will be able to achieve a 60x zoom which achieved through a periscope lens, though to achieve that 60x zoom level it will have to use digital zoom on top of the optical/hybrid.

A special “Starry mode” will help to shoot the Milky Way Galaxy, a feat that even full-fledged cameras struggle with.

The image that he has shared has a resolution of 13MP, suggesting that this could be the resolution of the Realme X3 SuperZoom’s telephoto camera.

You can currently buy the Realme X2 Pro for just £419 which features the SD855+ and an optical lens, so it will be interesting to see what premium will be charged for the SuperZoom technology.
