Realme introduced the X7 and X7 Pro back in September and the Realme V5 in August. It is now confirmed that the Realme X7 Pro will be extending outside of China with a global release, starting with Thailand.
In the UK we got the Realme 7 5G which is an upgraded version of the Realme V5. To date, no X7 model has come to the UK.
However, Realme did confirm to me that new AMOLED based phones will be launching in Europe this January. It seems logical to assume that the Realme X7 Pro and possibly the X7 will be used for this release, even if they get rebranded to something else.
During IFA, Realme did state that the X7 series would make its way to Europe in Q4 2020, so it is possible we will get the X7 Pro, but I would say it is unlikely to be in 2020.
Realme had stated that the V3 and V5 will launch in the UK, but this is doesn’t look 100% accurate now the Realme 7 5G has launched with a slightly different spec.
So, therefore, we could see them do the same and launch the X7 Pro as the Realme 7 Pro 5G.
The Realme X7 Pro uses the Mediatek Dimensity 1000+ chipset which would make it the first phone to launch in the UK. It would be landing in the UK just in time for Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 based phones to launch, so its year-old flagship credentials look less impressive, but it should offer a new low price for high-performance phones.
Along with the flagship Mediatek chipset, the X7 Pro features a 6.55″ FullHD+ 120Hz Super AMOLED display, the first Realme smartphone with an AMOLED screen to have that refresh rate.
There are four cameras on the rear, the two useful ones being a 64MP Sony sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide. On the front, you get a 32MP camera.
There is then an impressive 4500mAh battery, and as usual for the higher specced Realme phones, there incredibly fast 65W charging.
If/when it does launch I would hope it will land under £400 which would make it one of the best options on the market for a mid to high-end phone, in my opinion.
