Realme will announce their new X7 series on the 1st of September in China, so far this will likely include a standard X7 and a Pro model, it is also speculated that there will be an Ultra mode.
With the data approaching quickly more details of the new phones are gradually leaking out.
Realme X7 Pro Specification
The Realme X7 Pro with the model number RMX2121 has appeared on TENAA’s website, revealing some key specs. The listing reveals the smartphone will run Android 10 out of the box and come with 6GB or 8GB RAM. There will be two storage options – 128GB and 256GB – but the smartphone will not have a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Images of the phone on TENAA confirm the rear cameras will be located in a rectangular configuration, not dissimilar to the Huawei P40 Pro, with a total of 4 sensors on the rear.
Realme have confirmed that the device will feature 5G connectivity (they previously committed to all Chinese phones being 5G) and have a 120Hz AMOLED screen.
The following specs are via serial leaker Digital Chat Station from Weibo, they state that the AMOLED display will be 6.55″ FullHD+ display sourced from Samsung with a single punch-hole (rather than the pill-shaped they have used a lot recently).
The camera configuration will include one 64MP, one 8MP and two 2MP modules. It is safe to assume this will be the typical layout of a main 64MP wide lens, 8MP ultrawide then 2MP macro and 2MP depth.
The phone will then be powered by a dual cell 4,500 mAh battery with 65W charging
The interesting spec is that the X7 Pro will be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.6GHz, which is likely a part of the Dimensity 1000+ SoC. If this is true it will place the phone up against the recently launched Redmi K30 Ultra.
MediaTek Dimensity 1000 + Phones
It is interesting (and good) to see that interest in MediaTek flagship chipsets has increased, the original MediaTek Dimensity 1000 which was announced last year has a grand total of has a grand total of ZERO phones using it.
The Oppo Reno3 5G launched with the still unofficial MediaTek Dimensity 1000L.
Then it wasn’t until May this year that the iQOO Z1 5G was announced with the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+. This chipset is effectively identical to the older one; they just added support for higher refresh rate screens.
Realme X7 Pro vs Redmi K30 Ultra Specification
If the leaks are accurate, both phones will have the same chipset and use 120Hz AMOLED displays with similar if not identical memory and storage options.
The Redmi is a bit bigger with a 6.67-inch display vs 6.55 inch.
They will share the same quality primary rear sensory, however, the Redmi will be a little better elsewhere with its 13MP ultra-wide then 5MP telephoto/macro and 2MP depth.
The Redmi K30 Ultra also has a pop up 20MP selfie camera, which I would much prefer over a single 32MP selfie punch hole.
Both phones have a 4500 mAh battery, but the Realme has the advantage of 65W charging vs 33W of the Redmi.
Realme X7 Specification – Will this use the Dimensity 800U
Purely speculation on my part, but with the recent launch of the MediaTek Dimensity 800U and Realme’s commitment to 5G in China, I would bet that the lower specced model will feature this new affordable chipset.
However, with a growing number of MediaTek 5G chipset, Realme have plenty of other choices.
UK and European Availability? What will launch at IFA 2020?
We still have not had a Dimensity based phone launch outside of China, this is set to change in the next few months, but there is no word on who or when will launch a phone with one.
Realme have previously stated that they are attending IFA this year, so it is likely they will launch something there. However, they haven’t mentioned much about it since the July announcement.
With Realme launching the X7 series days before IFA in China it doesn’t seem all that likely they will then launch the phone globally a few days later at IFA.
The original IFA announcement indicated they are launching a special edition phone, this would imply a refresh of something that already exists, which could be a little disappointing.
See you in Europe. Big announcement to come from #realme in #IFA20.#DareToLeap https://t.co/THmlQyXIFK

Realme X3 Pro
Recently the Realme RMX2083 popped up on Geekbench sporting a Snapdragon 855+ chipset, and this is expected to be the Realme X3 Pro so it is possible they may launch this at IFA.
Realme X7 Ultra
The latest rumour is for the Realme X7 Pro Ultra coming from ICE Universe on Weibo, the name seems like an unlikely name over just X7 Ultra.
The leak indicates that this will also launch on the 1st of September use the same display as the other X7 models but feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, 125W super flash charging technology and possibly a periscope zoom lens.
