TCL offer some of the highest spec TVs for the money on the market. They will continue this trend in 2021 with the launch of their new C series TVs.
The three new models, C82, C72+ and C72, tick almost every box for the latest display technology.
HDMI 2.1 with VRR & Dolby Atmos
In particular, they all feature HDMI 2.1, which offers up to 48Gbps bandwidth and incorporates eArc allowing you to output uncompressed 7.1 audio to your speakers for the ultimate home theatre audio using Dolby Atmos.
HDMI 2.1 then allows the TVs to offer a variable refresh rate with 4K at up to 120 frames per second.
Android TV
All the TV feature Android TV version 11 which is compatible with both Google Assistant and Alexa while offering all your favourite streaming services.
TCL C82 vs C72+ vs C72
The main difference with the TVs is the display itself. At the top of the range is the TCL C82 and which features 4K 100Hz Mini-LED TV with QLED and is also paired with an Onkyo audio system.
The next step down is the C72+ which is 4K QLED TV with 100Hz clarity motion.
Finally, the C72 is a 4K QLED TV.
While all the TVs offer Dolby Vision and HDR 10+, the C82 Series comes with 4K HDR Premium, which provides a superior High Dynamic Range experience with great brightness, exceptional shadow detail and vividly accurate colours; while the C72 and C72+ Series comes with 4K HDR Pro, which is combined with quantum dot and provides a superior High Dynamic Range (HDR) experience delivering accurate colours and the finest details.
The C82 and C72+ have 4K HDR Dolby Vision IQ, which can optimise the picture quality to adapt picture quality to the room’s lighting conditions.
Price and Availability
There is no word on the price or when these TVs will be available.
Looking online, the previous generation C81 series is just £899 for the 65” model, so I’d expect all these TV to be very affordable.

TikTok now available on TCL TV
Since the end of March, the TikTok TV app has been available on TCL TVs, bringing TikTok’s trending content into the homes of people across the UK. TikTok will be pushed and recommended on some existing models and all 2021 models of TCL TVs, bringing entertaining TikTok content direct to people’s televisions.
TikTok’s TV app has been specifically created for the TV home-viewing experience, allowing people to view content from TikTok’s ‘For You’ and ‘Following’ feeds, as well as the most liked and viewed content on TikTok. This content has been organised into categories covering everything from gaming and comedy to beauty and fashion.
